Hello all: please see this updated poster for this in-person event in Toronto on 25 Feb 2023, 4-7 pm EST (poster includes an announcement in French / l’affiche contient des renseignements en français).

This is an opportunity to meet the General Service Board of DA in person. In addition to the official event itself, there will be a chance to socialize afterwards. A reservation has been made at the Denny’s at 121 Dundas St W. (about a five-minute walk away from the meeting space) that will allow for a variety of price points (just a coffee to a full meal) for those who wish to join us afterwards.

Hard-copy DA literature (books and pamphlets) will be available for sale at the event.

On the afternoon of Saturday, Feb 25th, 2023, The General Service Board (GSB) of Debtors Anonymous invites you to meet the 10 Trustees on the present board and learn about how the D.A. structure works, what the Board does day to day and how GSRs and the WSC conference fit into the service structure. The General Service Board of Debtors Anonymous is pleased to announce that Ottawa, Ontario, Canada has been selected as the host city for the 2024 World Service Conference in early August. More details will be forthcoming.

The Board wishes to thank the Canadian Feasibility Committee for offering assistance at the 2022 WSC when no bid for 2024 materialized. This committee prepared and sent a Request for Proposal to the convention and tourism boards of Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver and received replies from several hotels and conference centres. In January 2023 the GSB-Conference Support Committee met with venues and conducted site inspections and decided on Ottawa as the ideal location for 2024.

Groups and Intergroups are invited to consider hosting a future World Service Conference in their area. Bids for 2025 are due by 1 July 2023 and will be voted on at the 2023 WSC this August in Newark, NJ. The email address for bids and inquiries is: BidsForWSC@debtorsanonymous.org.

The Barrie DA group has decided to shut down, and to merge its Zoom meeting with those of Montreal’s Prosperity D.A. group (#706). For information on how to join this meeting, please refer to the Find a Meeting page.

Recovery: A New Way To Financial Freedom
Friday 7 October, 8 Saturday, 9 Sunday 2022

This is a two day special event of experience, strength and hope around recovery from compulsive debting, within a well-established 12 Step Fellowship context.

It will be notably different to typical conference style events that feature popular influencers, renown public speakers or thought leaders, as all attendees remain anonymous as part of our Fellowship.

Strong DA Speakers will be sharing their personal experiences of recovery from a baffling and powerful spiritual disease.

• There are 3 separate ‘Gatherings’ of 4 sessions, each day
• Most sessions have either Q&A or sharing by participants
• Day 1 includes a 2hr Step Study Review session
• Day 2 includes a 2hr session devoted to private PRGs using breakout rooms
